	Artist Profile   M.B. Colburn   Helicopter by M.B. Colburn Click for larger view. With inspiration from nature, world events, memory, and dreams, my paintings and drawings offer distinctive and surreal juxtapositions of imagery. The work often includes a narrative or theme (occasionally autobiographical) that runs through either a series or an individual piece. Currently, I work primarily in acrylics and mixed media on wood and masonite. Colburn has exhibited widely in the DC area, Arizona, and Colorado. Her work is in private collections in the U.S. and Berlin, and an oil painting hangs in the National Museum of Natural History Museum, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC.
